Natural gas customers are more satisfied with their utility service than they were last year, according to the 2012 Gas Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study, created by J.D. Power and Associates.
The recently released study measured residential customer satisfaction with gas utility companies by looking at six factors: billing and payment; price; corporate citizenship; communications; customer service; and field service.
The American Gas Association (AGA) is pleased to congratulate the following member companies for ranking highest among large utilities (400,000+ residential customers) in all four geographic regions:
East Region: New Jersey Natural Gas
Midwest Region: MidAmerican Energy
South Region: Oklahoma Natural Gas
West Region: Southern California Gas Company
AGA member companies also ranked the highest among midsize utilities (165,000 – 400,000 residential customers) in three out of the four regions:
Midwest Region: Citizens Gas
South Region: South Carolina Electric & Gas
West Region: Intermountain Gas Company
According to the study, as the average reported monthly bill decreased by $9, customer satisfaction with price, communication, and customer service all increased.
The study, fielded between September 2011 and July 2012, was based on more than 63,500 responses from residential customers of the 75 largest gas utilities across the U.S., serving nearly 54 million households.
AGA members deliver clean natural gas to more than 177 million Americans and are a true partner in the communities they serve. Many utilities have served their customers for more than 100 years.
