We have come to the end of the American Gas Association’s inaugural Giving Month. Throughout December, our members joined local community partners and nonprofit organizations in a number of charitable efforts to help fuel their communities by giving their time and resources to those in need.
A heartwarming amount of time and energy was given to a wide range of volunteer activities, which included: helping pack and prepare meals for hunger relief organizations,
sorting and wrapping toys for local children in need, donating to holiday gift drives, providing coats for children that need them this winter and laying wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery to honor America’s fallen soldiers, to name a few.
“With winter weather and the holiday season, our community-based outreach at this time of year can particularly bring warmth and cheer to customers in need,” said Calvin G. Butler Jr., chief executive officer of Baltimore Gas and Electric, an Exelon Company.
“We’re proud to be included in AGA’s campaign to help raise awareness of the contributions of natural gas companies and our employees.”
AGA is proud of the community spirit of our members, their staffs and volunteers and the dedication that went into a successful Giving Month campaign. In communities throughout the nation, natural gas utilities are helping to provide not only solutions for home energy needs but also a warm and happy holiday season. Thank you for your continued hard work and we look forward to what we can accomplish together in the year ahead.
