We are very excited to welcome the Honorable Dave McCurdy to the AGA family as the new president and CEO to succeed Dave Parker, who has served as AGA’s president and CEO since 1997. Parker is officially retiring at the end of the year and McCurdy is expected to take the helm of AGA in early 2011.
Most recently McCurdy served as president and CEO of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers where he led the industry in building a new collaborative approach to development of federal policies. McCurdy joined the Alliance in 2007 after serving as president and CEO of the Electronics Industry Alliance (EIA) for eight years. Prior to leading the EIA, McCurdy had a distinguished career in the United States House of Representatives, served as an assistant attorney general of Oklahoma and in private law practice.
He clearly has a stellar background and all of us at AGA are thrilled that he is joining this great organization. While we will all miss Dave Parker greatly, we are confident he is leaving AGA and our member in good hands and we are excited about the years ahead.
