Mr. Hogan is Communications Director for the American Gas Association (AGA), headquartered in Washington, DC.

The AGA, founded in 1918, represents 202 local energy companies that deliver natural gas throughout the United States.  There are nearly 70 million residential, commercial and industrial natural gas customers in the U.S., of which 92 percent — more than 64 million customers — receive their gas from AGA members. AGA is an advocate for natural gas utility companies and their customers, and provides a broad range of programs and services for member natural gas pipelines, marketers, gatherers, international natural gas companies and industry associates. Today, natural gas meets almost one-fourth of the United States’ energy needs.

Mr. Hogan develops and supports targeted and general messaging with a goal of accurately representing AGA and the energy utility industry’s stances on key issues and policies.  He also manages communications activities concerning financial analysts, regulators, investors and federal regulatory issues.

Mr. Hogan also directs the “Defend My Dividend” national grassroots advocacy campaign to preserve reasonable dividend tax rates for American investors. Defend My Dividend is an innovative organization that draws on the combined strengths of diverse partners, including utilities, trade associations, state shareholders organizations, and other coalitions.

Mr. Hogan is a member of the, American Society of Association Executives, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Investor Relations Institute.  He is also sits on the Institute of Organization Management’s Board of Regents.

He holds a B.S. in Political Science from Northeastern University; a Master of Business Administration and Master of International Management, both from the University of Maryland University College; and was awarded the I.O.M. nonprofit executive certification.
