Jackie Bavaro Giving Back During #GivingMonth at Martha’s Table

Last week, American Gas Association (AGA) staff members participated in the second week of Giving Month by contributing to Martha’s Table, a local DC nonprofit that provides families with a support system to help increase access to quality educational stewprograms and healthy food options.

To contribute to the mission of Martha’s Table, AGA staff was on site to help with food preparation and baking. Throughout the week, AGA made more than 150 muffins, 400 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and one very delicious fish stew.

AGA is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the 16,000 volunteers each year that help Martha’s Table achieve its mission to support stronger children, families and communities in the DC area. For more than 35 years, Martha’s Table has worked to provide families with a strong support system and positive educational opportunities by focusing on three areas: Healthy Start, Healthy Eating and Healthy Connections.

bakingIn 2015, Martha’s Table served more than one million meals, distributed free clothing and housewares to 10,000 neighbors in need and provided education to more than 200 children and young adults. This is an organization we are proud to support.

A heartwarming amount of time and energy has also been given throughout the year by our members.
